Implementation of Peer Teaching Method in Conventional Machining Engineering Subject to Improve Learning Achievement of Grade XI Machining Engineering Students

Students find it difficult to follow several subjects, one of which is the subject of Conventional Machining Techniques where students have just advanced to class XI so they are still unfamiliar with machining practices. This study aims to analyze the application of the peer teaching method to improve attitude, knowledge, and skills competencies in conventional machining engineering subjects. The research used class action research. The research subjects were 33 students of class XI of machining engineering. Data collection techniques used attitude observation, knowledge tests, and skills tests. Data analysis techniques using descriptive quantitative. The results showed that peer teaching was able to improve students' attitudinal competence. In cycle 1 it increased by 64% and in cycle 2 it increased by 27%. Peer teaching is able to improve student knowledge. In cycle 1 posttest with a percentage of completeness of 57.6%. In the pretest cycle 2 the percentage of completeness was 64%. In the posttest cycle 2, the percentage of completeness was 100%. Peer teaching on the skills test had a positive impact where the student completeness rate reached 94%.
