Evaluation of the Implementation of Occupational Safety and Health in the Lathe Machining Engineering Subject at SMK Negeri 1 Nanggulan

Abstract

This research aims to determine the level of knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health (K3), the level of awareness of K3 behavior, and determine the level of application of K3 of class 3 students of the Mechanical Engineering Department of SMK N 1 Nanggulan when carrying out turning practice activities. This type of research is quantitative research. The data collection technique for the knowledge and behavioral awareness variables uses a questionnaire, while the application data uses a direct observation method reinforced by interviews with teachers who teach the Lathe Machining Engineering subject. The population in this study was class XII students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SMK N 1 Nanggulan, totaling 35 students. This research data analysis uses descriptive analysis methods assisted by using Microsoft Excel and SPSS 27 software. The results of the analysis show that: (1) The level of students' knowledge about K3 when practicing turning is included in the high category with an average score of 70.63. (2) The level of awareness of students' K3 behavior when practicing turning is included in the very high category with an average score of 56.37. (3) The level of application of K3 when practicing turning is included in the high category with a score range of 51-75% or 18-25 students always apply K3 when practicing turning.
