CITYLIGHT AS AN INSPIRATION FOR CREATING MODERN EVENING GOWNS

Abstract

This study aimed to (1) create a collection of modern evening gown designs inspired by city lights, (2) produce a collection of modern evening gowns inspired by city lights, and (3) brand the collection of modern evening gowns inspired by city lights.  The creation of the fashion collection based on the city light concept was conducted through  several stages: (1) the initial stage involved designing through, idea exploration, creating mind maps,  mood boards, fashion design presentations, and embellishment designs; (2) the production process  began with selecting fabrics, followed by pattern making, pattern drafting, fabric cutting, fabric  marking, sewing, fitting, embellishment, price calculation, and evaluation of the final product; (3) the  branding stage included creating the brand DNA and branding the fashion products by producing photo  and video teasers, which were then promoted on social media.  The results of this final project were: (1) the creation of a modern evening gown collection design inspired by city lights, (2) the realization of a collection consisting of six evening gown designs using bridal satin, sugar candy tulle, mulberry satin, crinoline tulle, and bead embellishments, and (3) the successful branding activities, including promotions through content uploads on social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and WhatsApp Business.
