This study aims to determine the effectiveness of posters and educational videos in improving students' understanding of hand washing with soap at SDN 1 Gaden. This study is quantitative in nature and uses a quasi-experimental method. The population in this study consisted of all 58 students at SDN 1 Gaden, who were divided into two intervention groups and selected using purposive sampling techniques, namely the poster media group and the video media group. The data collection technique used in this study was a questionnaire test, while the data analysis techniques used were normality test, homogeneity test, and research hypothesis test (paired sample t-test). The results showed that the paired sample t-test on the poster media intervention group obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001. Meanwhile, the paired sample t-test on the video media intervention group obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001. The paired sample t-test results for poster media and video media obtained a significance value smaller than the significance level of 0.05 (0.001 < 0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that poster media and video media used for education are proven to be effective in improving understanding of hand washing with soap among students at SDN 1 Gaden.
