Abstract

Based on 2018 health research data, more than 95% of Indonesian adolescents do not consume enough vegetables and fruits. The 2021 study “Understanding Health and Nutrition Among Adolescents” found that only 57% of adolescents consume half to one serving of fruit and only 65% consume half to one serving of vegetables. Meanwhile, the recommendation from the Ministry of Health and WHO is five servings per day. Eating fruits and vegetables is one way to achieve a balanced diet. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of health promotion media on knowledge and changes in fruit and vegetable consumption patterns among adolescents based on a review of scientific articles read by the author. This study used a literature review method. Literature searches were conducted using the Google Scholar and Sinta databases. The results of the study indicate that increased knowledge and consumption patterns of fruits and vegetables among adolescents can be achieved through health promotion media.
