MOTIVATION OF CLASS VII STUDENTS OF SMPN 1 PADANG IN FOLLOWING PHYSICAL EDUCATION LEARNING

Abstract


This study aims to determine how much motivation the seventh grade students at SMPN 1 Padang are in participating in the Physical Education Learning process. This research is a descriptive research. The data collection technique in this study was in the form of a questionnaire distributed via google form. The subjects in this study were seventh grade students of SMPN 1 Padang, totaling 165 students, so it was called a population study. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire have been tested at SMP Negeri 6 Yogyakarta, with a validity coefficient of 0.950 and a reliability of 0.978. The data analysis technique used quantitative descriptive analysis as stated in the form of percentages. The results showed that the motivation of class VII students at SMPN 1 Padang in participating in Physical Education Learning was in the "Very Low" category of 4.24% (7 students), "Low" by 35.75% (59 students), “Medium” by 30.90% (51 students), “High” by 23.63% by (39 students), “Very High” by 5.45% (9 students) . It can be concluded that the motivation of class VII SMPN 1 Padang students in participating in the Physical Education learning process is in the medium category.
