Hasnan Bachtiar is a lecturer in the Faculty of Islamic Studies, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). Currently, he has worked as a research assistant on the GREASE project in Indonesia, European University Institute (EUI), Florence, Italy. He hold a LLB majoring in Islamic law (UMM 2009) and an Advanced Master in the field of law of war and international relations from the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra, Australia in 2018. He pursues a PhD degree in Deakin University, Australia.
