Perbedaan usia dalam bias korespondensi: Peran dari attitude diagnosticity yang dibatasi secara sosial

Bias korespondensi adalah sebuah kondisi ketika seseorang menyimpulkan perilaku asli individu lain berdasarkan perilaku yang terlihat walaupun terdapat pembatasan sosial terhadap perilaku tersebut yang didasari oleh adanya persepsi sosial. Personal beliefs yang dimiliki individu dengan usia tertentu dapat mempengaruhi atribusi sikap. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan bias korespondensi berdasarkan perbedaan usia yang dikategorikan berdasarkan generasi Y (tahun 1981-1996) dan generasi Z (tahun 1997-2012). Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari 32 partisipan yang telah dikelompokkan sesuai dengan generasi dan dikumpulkan secara online melalui google form. Berdasarkan analisis ANCOVA yang dilakukan, menunjukkan bahwa attitude diagnosticity tidak berpengaruh terhadap bias korespondensi (F(1, 23)=0.740, p=0.339) dan essay direction berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap bias korespondensi (F(1, 23)=22.211, p<.001). Hal tersebut didukung oleh hasil uji Post Hoc Test (SE=0.493, t=4.71, p<.001) dan independent samples t-test (p=0.660). Secara keseluruhan, essay direction secara signifikan lebih berpengaruh terhadap bias korespondensi daripada faktor-faktor yang lain.
